Hello everone, I hope you all had a Happy Halloween and that everone got lots of yummy candy.......Okay, lets see where we last left off. JJ left for deer camp early Friday morning, he went with Blake, Shane and Shane's nephew Drew. They all met up with Randy, Tommy and Martin. Deer camp is located in Black Kettle (somewhere in Western Oklahoma past Elk City). When JJ left he still was not feeling any better, however he said he had an awesome time. On Saturday morning, he shot a 115lb Doe. He was kind of excited, but since he was a little under the weather, he forgot his reloads in the truck. Since he was out of bullets, he was unable to shot the couple of big bucks that walked by, so all he could do was watch them and drool. Since he got his Doe early that morning, on Saturday evening, he played "guide" to Shane's nephew Drew and helped him kill his first deer. Then on Sunday morning, he played "guide" to Martin and pointed him in the right direction. What a success, Martin killed his first buck that day!! Wow - I did not realize what a great "guide" my hubby was. JJ came back into town on Tuesday, and went back to work on Wednesday. He is still feeling sick, however we found out right before he left for deer camp that he was sick with bronchitis. As of today, he is still on the mend and feeling better, however he is still a little stuffy at times. I know this because he is back to being the jokester that he is.
For those of you who have asked and have been wondering, as of right now, we think that his dad's surgery was a success. He is on the road to recovery. We thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and well wishes. JJ and I both appreciate it!!
On Friday, we celebrated Halloween, and stayed at home passing out candy. My nephews Barrett and Preston came by to trick or treat and they were both dressed really cute. Barrett was his idol Thomas the Train and Preston was Superman. He had a little red cape, what a cutie!! Check out the second picture, there is that crazy smile of Barrett's.
On Saturday, JJ stayed close to home and went hunting with Stephen somewhere south of Washington. He had a good time, but the deer did not want to play, so he did not see or shoot anything. I think that he was a little disappointed. Me, I stayed at home and watched football all day. BTW - kudos to those Red Raiders for knocking them Longhorns out of first place and BOOMER SOONER!!! Blake, Chase, Danielle and Barrett came over and kept me company until JJ got home. We were having such a good time that they all stayed overnight and we had one big slumber party. I think that is about all for now. Oh yeah, way to go to JJ's sister Holly and his nephew Cody for running their race this weekend. Good job, we are really happy for you both. Take care everyone, we love and miss you!!!
