Hello everyone, can you believe it, the holidays are right around the corner and before you know it, it will be time to ring in the new year. Wow, I can't believe how fast 2008 has gone by. Here is our year in review......
January - Well since JJ popped the question on Christmas morning, we were busy trying to figure out what we wanted to do for a wedding.
February - We finalized our wedding plans and decided to get hitched in the fabulous town of Las Vegas. I had never been, and JJ had only been once before, when his sister got married. Now that we had a date [August 8] and a location [Treasure Island], the FUN was about to begin.
March - We continued planning for the wedding, and began to purchase everything [something borrowed, something old, something new, something blue and a sixpence - that was the hardest thing to find], invitations, the dress, the shoes, the veil, etc, etc, etc......
April - JJ turned the big 31 so to celebrate, he, his dad, and Blake all went Turkey hunting. They went somewhere out in Western Oklahoma, however they did not get anything, they just had a good time.
May - Continued moving forward with the wedding plans. JJ's cousin Taylor got married and JJ finally got the monkey off of his back and took first place in a official Bass Tournament. He was so happy and excited.
June, and July - Still more wedding planning. Who knew that it what was going to consume half of our year.
August - The BIG DAY arrived. My 32nd birthday [ha, ha, just kidding] Our wedding day. We flew into Vegas on Thursday August 7th and checked into our hotel and then hopped into a limo and went to the Clark County courthouse to apply for our marriage license. I have never before felt like a heard of cattle until then. There were so many people just going in and out. The next day[August 8, 2008] was our wedding day and the most amazing day of our lives. We could not have been happier. We may have lots our butts in Vegas, but we both came back with something amazing. Call us crazy, but not only did we get married this month, we also closed on our house. We were so thankful for the end of the month to arrive [not the house payment], but we had survived!! Whew......
September - Once we got moved in and settled into the house, we began to decorate and paint. This was the first time that I had ever seen JJ cry. JJ and I both decided that we had seen the inside of our local Lowe's store way to much, but we also agreed that it was our NEW favorite store, so no more Bass Pro. We also gained a new addition to our family, Miss Abby.
October - We got to celebrate Halloween in our new home and pass out candy for our first year together as husband and wife. Football season was in full swing and so were our memorable football parties. We put out lots of Halloween decorations and hung lights. It was great!! Hunting season began in October and JJ was out the door. I still have not seen him for an entire weekend since.
November - Hunting season continued, so JJ was gone on and off during this month. We also celebrated our first Thanksgiving as husband and wife, and we were blessed to spend it with our family. We invited everyone over for Thanksgiving, so I was a little stressed to begin with, but we feed 25 people and it was great. We also sat around after dinner with the family and watched a movie. Nice and relaxing. We really enjoyed ourselves.
December - We decorated the house with red and white Christmas lights [picture will soon be coming]. I keep teasing JJ telling him that we have an OU house, I don't think he is too happy about that. We also put up the Christmas tree and decorated it. It looks perfect. Every now and then, I come home and JJ has a fire going and it makes everything nice and warm. We have had a wonderful year, and I feel like God has blessed us in so many ways.
Thank you to all of our family and friends for making it a great year. We love you all and Happy Holidays.
